One of the goals for Pangasinan State University - Graduate School (PSU - GS) is to strengthen its capability to provide training, technical assistance and consultancy services to clientele institutions, entities, agencies and community through complementary programs and projects. And that's what the Master of Arts in Computer Education (MACE) Department of PSU - GS did in their recently conducted "Seminar Workshop in Microsoft Office Applications" in Matic - Matic Elementary School II at the Municipality of Sta. Barbara last Dec., 21 and 22.
The said activity was made through the initiatives of the MACE Department with the help of the Pangasinan State University - Graduate School and the Department of Education (DepEd) in Sta. Barbara District II. Among the participants were the district heads and selected teachers from the different schools in Sta. Barbara District II.
Day 1 includes a seminar workshop on Computer Concepts and Basic Windows Navigation (in which Mr. Joseph Aquino was the resource speaker), and in the afternoon, it was Mrs. Evelyn Lomboy became the resource speaker on Microsoft Word Applications Lecture.
Day 2 were discussions and at the same time, workshop on Microsoft Excel (by Ms. Angelica Fernandez and Engilbert Comadre) while the last workshop on Microsoft Powerpoint was conducted by Mr. Ray Anthony Magat and Mr. Jomarc Stan Vidal.
During the 2 - day activity, the rest of the MACE students (that includes me) were also the facilitators to ensure that our participants absorb the lecture proper. It is a nice extension service from the MACE Department to bring the computer literacy to the schools that needs one with (of course) the collaboration from DepEd Sta. Barbara District - II.
Thus, the workshop should serve as one step to help the community in our quest to bring computer literacy to everyone.
